Rope Wrench

What is the Rope Wrench tether setup?

The Rope Wrench is a friction device that is used in the climbing system to take out the slack. It is combined with a tending pulley.

The Rope Wrench tether, what is it used for?

The system is often used by tree climbers to climb trees in a single rope setup (SRT). The Rope Wrench itself is a single part of the entire setup. It creates an energy efficient method for climbing trees, instead of using the more basic techniques like hip thrusting.
The Rope Wrench adds friction to the system when loaded. It pulls a tending pulley along the climbing line, which automatically moves the friction hitch. Combined with a foot ascender, it helps you utilize the more powerful leg muscles which makes the climb to the working position much easier.
