What is the Figure Eight Follow Through?

The Figure Eight Follow Through is basically a Figure Eight Knot which is then retraced with the working end of the line.

The Figure Eight Follow Through, what is it used for?

The Figure Eight Follow Through is mainly used to attach a climbing harness to a climbing rope.
You can also use this knot for a variety of other purposes where you need a loop at the end of your rope, like securing you climbing line to a sling around a tree.

Remarks

To tie in to a climbing harness you roughly pull out one arms length of climbing rope. This will give you enough line to tie the Figure Eight Follow Through, and will leave about two fists worth of tail.
